Think. Inspire. Motivate. This is the broader vision of TIMtalks, a forum for passionate students to share powerful ideas. TIMTalks is a chance for you to tell us what inspires you and drives your passion. Action speaks more than academics. Through a reflective story about your experiences and knowledge on a topic, share something with us that means something to you. Why should it matter to others? How has your experience at MIT played a role in defining this passion? What obstacles did you face, and how did you overcome them? We seek people with a broad vision, energy, and unique perspective. Take this as an opportunity to present a focused narrative of your thoughts, inspirations, and motivations.
Applications will be due by 11:59 pm on Friday, April 20th. All applicants will be notified of their status via email by Monday, April 30th. Selected students will have the opportunity to work with a professional writing and presentation staff to brainstorm ideas, refine materials such as a script and visual aids, and rehearse prior to their presentation. The TIMtalks' inaugural session will be held on May 16th from 6-8pm. All talks will be professionally recorded and produced by MIT Academic Media Production Services, and will be shared on our website as well as through other MIT media sources.
If you would like to nominate a student to give a TIMtalk, please email timtalks[at]mit[dot]edu with the name, class year, and email address of the student. We will then send a request to the nominated student to submit an application. We are accepting nominations from the MIT and broader communities.
Please note that we are currently only taking TIMtalk applications from undergraduates (Class of 2012, 2013, & 2014).
